Pre-Auction Notes: Original promotional grouping for the famed mid-century American Export Lines ocean liner SS Constitution, launched in 1950 and placed in service in 1952 on the New York–Mediterranean route alongside her sister ship Independence. Includes an 8x10 black-and-white publicity photograph, a color postcard, and souvenir deck plans showcasing the ship’s modern design and amenities. The Constitution became an icon of American postwar luxury travel, noted for appearances in I Love Lucy, the film An Affair to Remember (1957), and for carrying Grace Kelly to Monaco for her 1956 royal wedding. A fine set of ephemera from one of the most celebrated U.S.-built liners of the 20th century.
