Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of items do you sell? Do you have a niche?

We sell items of all kinds! We don't really have a niche, but instead look to fill the shop with items that we think look cool and interesting. Most of the items we sell date between the 1920s and 1990s, but we also carry items from the 18th and 19th centuries. Our inventory is constantly in flux, but you'll always find a selection of antique photographs (tintypes, ambrotypes, daguerreotypes), vintage trading card wax packs, antique tools, cast iron, quality antique furniture, postcards from around the world, vintage magazines, antique books, vintage cameras, and so so much more. With the exception of the occasional unique garment, we don't carry clothing. Check our Instagram to see what's in the shop this week!

Where do you get your stuff?

We'll keep the details secret, but our inventory comes from a wide variety of sources throughout New England, including auctions, estate sales, flea markets, and more! If you're interested in getting into buying and selling antiques, we recommend checking out to find an auction in your area!

Do you want to buy my stuff?

Typically we don't buy items from private sellers, as we tend to get the best deals at some of the sources listed above. We're also pretty selective about what we buy, and its never fun to tell someone we're not interested in what they've got. That said, some of our favorite finds have come from private sellers! If you've got an item, or want to invite us to pick through your collection or an estate you've inherited, the best way to arrange that is to send an email with some photographs to Please note that we are not a pawn shop, and we don't do complete cleanouts.

Are prices negotiable?

For the most part, our prices are pretty firm, but we totally understand the fun of haggling and negotiating. Feel free to throw out an offer on an item that you're interested in - we won't be offended and the worst we'll do is say no! The more you buy, the more likely we are to cut deals, so put together a big pile and we'll talk about knocking off a couple bucks here and there. We hate to see anyone leave behind something they love because they couldn't afford it, and we'll do the best we can to accommodate you! Let us know if you're a dealer!

Do you deliver?

Yes! We offer free delivery of furniture purchases of $75 or more to most locations in the Boston Metro Area. For some heavier items, we may ask that you assist with loading and unloading. Delivery availability depends on schedule, weather, and other factors.

Is there parking?

There is plenty of parking in the area for when you visit our shop! Walnut Street directly in front of our shop has free 2 hour parking during the day. Additionally, there is plenty of metered parking on Bow Street, which intersects with Walnut Street, right by us. A little further down there is a metered parking lot in Union Square Plaza with ample space. Please do not park in our neighbors' private parking lots!

Can I pet your dog?

Spotty is our faithful shop dog and hangs out in the store most days! He's sweet as honey, but Spotty is very shy and sometimes gets nervous meeting new people. Please ask before reaching out to pet Spotty! Ultimately its up to him, so the best thing to do is to put your hand out to let him sniff. He's usually behind a gate behind the counter, but sometimes is out and about roaming or napping in the store. Spotty will always be kept behind the gate while children are in the store. Children startle him and he may bark if they approach.
