Colorful round advertising rug featuring Buster Brown and his dog Tige, with bold yellow ground, blue border with stars, and red “Buster Brown” lettering. Central design shows Buster in his signature wide-brimmed hat winking, alongside Tige, with a “5” on his scarf. Produced as promotional material for Buster Brown Shoes, a brand introduced in 1904 by the Brown Shoe Company of St. Louis, Missouri (later known as Caleres). The Buster Brown character, originally from a popular comic strip, became one of the most enduring advertising mascots in American retail, especially associated with children’s footwear.
