Victorian Fox Taxidermy Full Body Mount Umbrella & Cane Stand
Here is a truly peculiar piece of antique taxidermy to add to your collection! This umbrella and cane stand dates back to the Victorian period and features a beautiful fox taxidermy mount with arms wrapped around the umbrella holder. It appears to be a home made piece, with the support for the mount fashioned out of an old wooden golf club. The base features a lovely design and a tin metal catch basin. The fox wears a cheeky grin and stands tall! There is some significant damage to the mount due to age and handling, which ultimately adds to the character of this one of a kind piece. There is damage under the arms, on all four paws, and on the groin area, where some of the stuffing and bones can be seen beneath the broken fur. One paw has been reattached with metal wire. The tail has been repaired with glue.
The mount stands 38 inches tall and the base measures 14 by 14 inches.
