Underwood & Underwood Stereoscope 3D Viewfinder Stereo Card Viewer, 1901
Underwood & Underwood Stereoscope 3D Viewfinder Stereo Card Viewer, 1901
Here is a great stereoscope used to view stereoscopic 3D cards that were popular at the turn of the century. This one was manufactured by Underwood & Underwood of New York, and the latest patent date listed is June 11, 1901. It is also marked with the Sun Sculpture Studios name, a subsidiary of Underwood & Underwood. This stereoscope is in excellent working condition and operates great. There is a small piece broken off from the end of the divider between the lenses, but it does not effect operation. Otherwise, this stereoscope is a in great shape with minor signs of wear from normal use and handling.
The photographed stereo card is not included with this item. However, many stereo cards are available for purchase from Memory Hole Vintage.
