The Young Ladies' Journal Triple Paris Fashion Plates in Frame, 1885 - 20.5 x 29.5"
Here is a lovely framed piece that was originally a supplement to the November 1885 edition of The Young Ladies' Journal titled, "No. 24 of The New Triple Paris Fashion Plates." It features three rows of colored examples of the French fashion trends of the time and serves as and advertisement for the designs for D. Nicholson & Company. The print was originally folded to accompany the journal, so there are creases throughout along the fold lines, as well as some minor tears. The image is about 1/4" askew in the frame, but it is only noticeable from the very corners. There is some pencil writing above each design, period to the piece, likely from the original owner. The print is framed nicely in a contemporary frame that measures 20.5 x 29.5"
