Early American edition of John Carr's travel narrative describing a tour through England to France, first published in London in 1805. Printed by William Fessenden in Brattleboro and sold by Isaiah Thomas, Jr. of Worcester. The preface references the political context following the ratifications of peace. Bound in full leather with gilt lettering on spine. Handwritten inscription on front endpaper. Binding exhibits severe wear with extensive losses, cracking, and surface deterioration to leather. Back cover is separated from text block. Interior pages show heavy foxing, water staining, and age-appropriate toning throughout. Loose binding with pages detached or detaching. An early example of American-printed travel literature with Vermont and Worcester Massachusetts publishing provenance.
