Here is an a copy of The History of Acadia from Its First Discovery to Its Surrender to England by the Treaty of Paris, written by James Hannay. This book was published and printed by J. & A. McMillan of St. John, N.B. in 1879. The book is signed on the first pages with the following handwritten inscription: "To Leut. Col. J.R. Macshane from his old friend the Author, January 2nd, 1881." This book is in poor overall condition. The marbled front cover is completely separated from the rest of the book, and there is partial separation on the rear cover. Additionally, there are some spots of water damage throughout the book. Otherwise, there is wear from normal handling and use.
