Here is an exceptional pair of solid bronze (possibly brass) bookends in an Egyptian revival style featuring the image of the famous Sphinx of Ancient Egypt. These bookends are entirely solid all the weight through and are considerably heavy, certainly plenty heavy to hold up any books. Similar bookends were manufactured by Bradley and Hubbard in a much lighter and thinner cast iron. As you can see from the photos, this set is incredibly thick when viewed from the side. They are in delightful condition with a very nice patina throughout and are ready to be used. Each bookend measures 4" W x 2" D x 3.75 H.
