Resident and Business Directory of Hopkinton and Holliston Massachusetts for 1899
Resident and Business Directory of Hopkinton and Holliston Massachusetts for 1899
I am always fascinated by flipping through old street guides and business directories from years past. Like this one, printed by C.F. Blanchard Printing in West Somerville, Massachusetts, they're packed full of old advertising and businesses long since shuttered. This guide features all kinds of information including, as stated in the title, a directory of businesses and residents of Holliston and Hopkinton, but also other information like postage rates, churches, libraries, schools, and more. My personal favorite part of this particular book is the directory of local societies such as the Free Masons, Odd Fellows, Knights of Columbus, and others! This would be a great gift for a local Massachusetts historian, or anybody that appreciates the history of small town America at the turn of the century.
This book is in very good condition and includes both covers and all of the original pages. The text is in great shape and looks nice and bright. The covers have some wear, which you can see in the photographs. The spine is in good shape with some fraying at the top and bottom. The binding looks good with only some minimal separation
This book measures 6" L x 9.25" W x 0.75" thick.
