Remington Rand Cadet Model 4B Portable Typewriter, 1938
Remington Rand Cadet Model 4B Portable Typewriter, 1938
This is a very lovely and very capable antique Remington Rand (Also known as Rem Rand, per the inscription on the machine) Cadet Model 4B portable manual typewriter! It is in great working condition and the keys on this compact machine are very snappy and responsive. It includes a brand new black ink ribbon already installed. I call this typewriter "bare bones" as it sacrifices some common typewriter features for portability and simplicity. This machine does not have adjustable margins, a bell, a shift lock key, an automatic line spacer, a carriage return lever, or a shift-activated symbol row. However, this typewriter is still a joy to type on, and would be perfect for the poet typist!

All typewriters sold by Memory Hole Vintage are fully functional and are sold with a brand new ink ribbon previously installed, unless otherwise noted. This means that all major functions work as expected and all keys type normally. As with most vintage typewriters, a key may stick or mistype occasionally, but that is to be expected of older machines. These typewriters have been cosmetically cleaned, but will include varying degrees of internal dust, scuffing, and other cosmetic imperfections. Please examine the photographs for a clear understanding of the machine you are buying. Happy typing!
