Here is a somber sixth plate ambrotype photograph of a deceased baby seated upright and clutching her doll, posed for her final photograph. The baby appears to have burn injuries on her face and right arm, likely her cause of death. This image comes in an intact and complete union case behind a brass mat and a glass panel. The picture is a sixth plate tintype, its dimensions being approximately 2.75" x 3.25," not including the case.
This photo was acquired from the estate of renowned photography collector and dealer Howard Daitz of New York City, husband of Evelyn Daitz, herself a photography collector and curator.
