Antique pair of Royal Doulton ceramic plates, each with a blue decorative border and square central image after Life Publishing Co. illustrations by Charles Dana Gibson. One titled "She Goes to the Fancy Dress Ball as 'Juliet'" (copyright 1901) depicting Juliet with seven costumed men, and the other "They Go Fishing" (copyright 1900) showing a woman at the bow of a fishing boat with dejected men behind her. Both bear an illegible artist signature in the image and are stamped in blue “Royal Doulton England” with quatrefold and lion-on-crown logos; “They Go Fishing” also stamped “P” and “Juliet” stamped “C.” Juliet plate shows overall discoloration and yellowing; fishing plate retains a whiter tone with a discolored crack visible front and back. Both display full craquelure, age-related patina, and minor raised imperfections to the ceramic surface; no chips present.
