Two antique French hand-colored prints depicting English social types. The first, titled “Paysan & Paysanne des Environs de Londres” (1801), shows a country couple with a man carrying water buckets, a woman with a wheelbarrow of produce, and another woman standing by. The second, titled “Bourgeois & Bourgeoise de Londres” (1804), depicts a middle-class couple conversing in a London street scene with buildings and a ship in the background. Both prints are marked “Europe” and “Angleterre,” with dates at the top and inscriptions at the bottom. Each is matted and presented in a matching modern frame. Hand coloring remains vibrant.
