Antique illustrated history of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, written by Major Ben C. Truman with contributions from Hon. Geo. R. Davis, Thos. W. Palmer, Mrs. Potter Palmer, D. H. Burnham, Major Moses P. Handy, John Thorpe, Thomas B. Bryan, and other figures connected with the exposition. Published by Mammoth Publishing Co., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1893. Features profuse engravings made from photographs and drawings of exhibits in the various departments. Blue cloth binding with pictorial cover design depicting exposition buildings, an eagle with shield, and portrait of Columbus. Interior includes engraved illustrations of notable figures including Cardinal Gibbons and members of the Commissioners World's Columbian Commission. Patterned endpapers present. Binding shows exposed spine stitching, wear to corners and edges, and staining to rear board. Text block remains intact.
