Antique Masonic reference volume titled "History of the Ancient and Honorable Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons and Concordant Orders," illustrated throughout with portraits, architectural views, and ten engravings by Gustave Doré arranged expressly for this edition. The decorative cover features silver and gilt designs including a gold star with silver rays and an altar bearing an open book with Masonic tools. Published by The Fraternity Publishing Company, Boston and New York, 1891. Includes an inserted booklet titled "Constitution and By-Laws of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Connecticut," adopted May 1911 and revised to 1920, as found in the book. Some pages (including 87 and 101) bear handwriting and underlining. Wear and tear to edges and corners, but overall good condition with binding intact.
