Here is the 1906 handwritten diary of Mr. John E. Bowen of Adamsville, Massachusetts, a community in Colrain, Massachusetts. The diary features daily writings including personal affairs, significant events and deaths, weather conditions, and other musings. There appears to be an entry for every day of 1906, though a few days may be missing. The entries are written in legible pencil handwriting. The diary is housed in a fabric folder labeled "Standard Diary." The diary has become separated from the spine of this folder, but is intact. A small folder at the back of the diary contains a few bits of miscellaneous ephemera, such as obituaries and receipts.
