This grouping consists of six copper printing plates from "Foibles of Insects and Men" by William Morton Wheeler, Professor of Entomology at Harvard University, published by Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1928. The plates correspond to pages nine, 19, 34, 38, 40, and 43 of the publication. Each plate features text in relief along with illustrations depicting various insects and figures relevant to the content. The plates are copper with raised surfaces for letterpress printing, showing the text and images in reverse as required for the printing process. The metal surfaces exhibit oxidation and patina consistent with age.
