Chinese Execution Photo #4 - Prisoners in Cangues

This gruesome item is sold as a relic of history that depicts an example of the brutality of crime and punishment in the early 20th century. Though they are long gone, no disrespect is intended toward the victims depicted in the photographs.

This photograph depicts a group of prisoners in cangues, East Asian devices used for public humiliation and corporal punishment. A handwritten note on the back reads "How would I look with one of these on my neck?"

The photographs in this collection show varying degree of wear including creases, tares, and bent corners, though they are all complete and in good condition considering their age.
