Written by Benjamin L. D'Ooge, Professor of Latin at Michigan State Normal College, and Frederick C. Eastman, Professor of Latin at the State University of Iowa. Published by Ginn and Company with offices in Boston, New York, Chicago, London, Atlanta, Dallas, Columbus, and San Francisco. Copyright 1917. Printed by The Athenaeum Press, Ginn and Company Proprietors, Boston, U.S.A. Features full-page illustrations including color plates depicting the Surrender of Vercingetorix to Caesar, The Assassination of Caesar 44 B.C., Landing of the Romans on the Coast of Britain, and The Ides of March, as well as numerous black and white illustrations of Roman soldiers, naval battles, and siege operations. Includes a folding color map of Gallia Antiqua showing ancient Gaul, Germania, Britannia, and Hispania. Brown cloth binding with stamped lettering and spine label. Binding shows wear to spine ends and corners with some fraying. Text block remains intact.
