Original boxed collection of decorative feathers, retailed by George E. Page of Bellows Falls, Vermont. Handwritten note on the lid identifies the contents as an Ostrich plume, imported turkey wing feathers, and a peacock sword feather. The peacock sword feather retains vibrant iridescent green and blue coloring, while the turkey and ostrich feathers display natural tones and textures.

These types of feathers were popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for use in millinery (hat-making), costuming, and decorative crafts, prized for their striking forms and colors. The original labeled box adds provenance and period authenticity.

Box shows age wear, toning, and staining, with handwritten notations on the lid. Feathers remain intact but show light age-related fragility. A fascinating piece of natural history and fashion history combined, offering insight into the millinery trade of the period.

Item dimensions are of box.
