The case retains its glass window where the clock face would have been but no longer contains the dial or movement. Interior paper label reads “Patented Spring Brass 30 Hour Clock, Manufactured by Seth Thomas, Thomaston, Connecticut.” Paper label on back indicates it was sold or serviced by O.J. Dodge, watchmaker and jeweler, "fine watch repairing a speciality," Barre, Vermont, Reverse painting shows areas of loss and flaking; wood case exhibits wear, scratches, and finish loss consistent with age and handling.
