Here is a beautiful antique stoneware mortar with an included wooden pestle. This lovely mortar bears a circular maker's mark that includes an image of a mortar and pestle with a leaf on each side along with text around the circle, which I unfortunately cannot make out. Both mortar and pestle show obvious signs of wear from years and years of use including some chipping and discoloration. There is a small pea sized hole worn into the interior of the mortar, but it does not go all the way through. Mortar
