Here is a very charming painted plaster match safe featuring two owls nuzzling on a branch. This piece has a bucket for matches on the right side and matches would be struck on the plaster. The plaster is painted with white paint which is severely chipping and flaking - please note that there will be paint flakes in your package, as the paint is not stable. However, this condition gives the piece considerable antique character. There is some chipping throughout, including small chips in the owls' ears. This piece is signed Hennecke's Statuary on the bottom.
