This beautiful antique inkwell features a figural head of a deer with tall 14-point antlers on an ornate base of what I believe to be bronze (Note: While I think this is bronze, it may be brass, or gilt cast iron. It is not guaranteed to be bronze). The antlers act as a convenient pen rest for antique fountain pens. The glass inkwell sits snugly in the center of the base, surrounded by the antlers. The inkwell cap is included, but does not sit very well on the inkwell, as the inkwell spout has worn or broken off (please see photos). The gilt metal has worn beautifully to leave behind a very pleasing patina.
This item is in great condition and would look amazing on any desk. The gold paint has worn away in most places, which creates a beautiful patina. There are no cracks or breaks in the metal. The spout on the top of the glass inkwell appears to have broken or worn off, so the cap does not sit very well on the inkwell.
This item measures 5" L x 6.5" W x 5" H.
