Antique folk art wooden cuckoo clock cover constructed from thin scroll-cut wood pieces forming stylized branches and leaves. The overall shape resembles a peaked house or chalet, with a large circular cutout for a clock face (not present) and a shallow door cutout at the top for the cuckoo. The cuckoo figure is spring-mounted, painted green and yellow with an expressive face and green hat, and shows heavy damage including the loss of its left wing and bites to the cork face. Two gilt-painted pine cone weights hang on chains from the clock face opening. The carved and etched woodwork features simple line patterning and overlapping branch-like corners, with a swinging leaf element at the bottom center. Nail holes along all four sides indicate prior mounting. Moderate wear and tear throughout consistent with age. Item dimensions are of full assemblage including cuckoo and hanging elements, clock face only measures 14-1/8" x 21-1/8".
