Antique folk art hand-painted papier-mache box lid, arched at the top, featuring a portrait of a young woman in a red dress with a yellow off-the-shoulder collar, a gold necklace, and pink flowers in her dark hair, set against a blue-green background with gilt line borders. This is the lid only; the box base is not present. The verso is lined with orange paper. The painted surface shows craquelure, scattered paint losses, and scuffing, with edge wear and losses to the lacquered exterior.
