Antique convex porcelain sign reading “Ateliers,” meaning “Workshops” in French, featuring bold black lettering on a white field bordered by navy blue pinstripes and signed “Busath-Brux” at lower right. Produced by Édouard Busath of Brussels, Belgium, active 1898–1913, an early innovator in electrotyping and one of Belgium’s first mass producers of enamel advertising signs. Busath’s workshops and enamel factories operated at several Brussels addresses including Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 9 and Avenue Van Volxem 284. The sign includes four mounting holes, one in each corner, and remains in good condition with normal wear and tear consistent with age, but appears unused.
