This pair of handcuffs is a true antique, manufactured during the Civil War era, if not earlier. They are very sturdy and have a beautiful antique patina. They include two original keys to open up the barrel locks on either cuff. Both keys work to open the locks, though they take some getting used to to operate. The estate that these came from suggested that they could possibly have been handcuffs used on slaves, though there is no provenance to back up this claim. Regardless, they are undoubtedly a piece of history.
The handcuffs and chain measure 15 inches long.
