Here is an incredible example of a hidden mother photograph. To help babies sit still for the long exposure times of antique photography, the mother would often hold the baby in her lap and be hidden by a sheet so that baby alone is in the photo. In this case, the mother's hand is clearly, and someone eerily, visible propping up baby's head. This CDV sized cabinet card is in a page out of an old photo album, which acts as a stiffener to preserve the photo.
