Francois-Joseph "Emperor of the Vultures" WWI French Poster - 23.5 x 31.5"
Here is an incredible period World War One French propaganda poster by Adrien Barrère (1874-1931). This poster depicts the Emperor of Austria and the King of Hungary, Francis Joseph I as a gangly plucked vulture. The text on the poster reads, "Francois-Joseph L'Imputrescible, Empereur Des Vautours," translated as Francis Joseph the Imputrescible, Emperor of Vultures." The poster was published ("imprimerie") at 26 Rue Philippe-De-Gerard, Paris. This is a period poster and is not a reproduction. It is currently housed in a plastic sleeve with a stiff backing board. Please note that the plastic sleeve is significantly torn and should be replaced, or else the poster should be framed. The poster itself is in good condition, aside from some blemishes, dirt marks, and a tear on the left side toward the bottom, where the plastic sheeting has worn away.
The poster measures approximately 23.5" x 31.5"
