Here is a great copper metal stereoscope or stereopticon used to view stereoscopic 3D cards that were popular at the turn of the century. This one was manufactured by H.C. White Company out of North Bennington, Vermont and has a listed patent date of 1904. It also features the seal of the 1900 International Exposition, also known as Exposition Universelle of 1900 and the 1900 Paris Exposition. This stereoscope is in perfect working order and operates great, with minor signs of wear from normal use and handling. There are some rust spots throughout the metal, but overall it is in nice condition. The copper is painted dark brown, with a ground in design to reveal the copper below, which appears like a wood grain pattern. The handle is wood. There would initially have been a piece of felt lining the edge of the viewfinder, but that felt is missing.

The photographed stereo card is not included with this item. However, many stereo cards are available for purchase from Memory Hole Vintage.
