Bid Against Cancer - $80 Donated to Pink Revolution of NH!
I haven't updated this blog since July, and I would love to get back into writing here. For now, though, my time at my computer has been spent developing all kinds of new features for MHV.live to make this platform the best it can be. I have made plenty of progress, but still have lots of ideas yet to materialize.
One of the biggest changes in recent weeks has been assigning each customer a unique bidder number to make our book-keeping a bit easier during the live shows. Last week I re-tooled my bidder number assignment app, which opened up an opportunity to offer custom bidder numbers to those who want them.
When the bidder numbers were first introduced to our audience, there were some ideas floated of auctioning off or selling custom numbers, which I thought sounded fun! My initial plan was to use the idea to raise money to help cover the cost of all of our business expenses (since we don't charge a buyer's premium), but I decided there was something better we could do. Instead, after reaching out to my community here in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire to find the perfect local organization, I decided to use the money raised from selling bidder numbers to benefit a local charity directly supporting cancer patients.
Cancer has had a profound effect on my immediate and extended family in the past few years. I never really understood what people meant when they talked about the courage it takes to battle the disease until I saw it up close and learned that, yes, it takes immense courage, and yes, it is a difficult, long, and painful battle. The other thing I came to understand is that this battle is a full time job, and there is a whole host of challenges in addition to the health ones that patients and their families face. That is why I decided that Pink Revolution of New Hampshire would be the perfect organization to support, as they help to support patients battling cancer in our community.

Additionally, we provide essential comfort care products such as wigs, mastectomy bras, and lymphedema products ensuring patients receive the support and resources they need for a better quality of life throughout their cancer journey.
We envision a world where everyone will have the opportunity to get to treatment without the risk of financial burden.
In our first couple days of selling custom bidder numbers, we were able to raise $80 to support Pink Revolution, and that donation has been made! If you would like to contribute, I know we can raise more, and help these folks help others.
