For sale is an antique ribbon from the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, also known as IOOF. The ribbon starts with a brass framed badge that reads "Independent Order of Odd Fellows" and features the FLT links, standing for Friendship, Love, and Truth, as well as the all-seeing eye, another common fraternal symbol. Please not that the badge does not have a pinback, but it looks like there may have been one at a time. The ribbon portions are finished with beautiful brass toned metal fringe that is in great condition and intact. The first section of ribbon is blue and reads IOOF and again has the FLT links and an hourglass. The second portion of the ribbon is red and reads "Connecticut River, Lodge No. 7, Barnet, Vermont." Flipping over to the backside we have a white ribbon section that reads "In Memoriam" and again has the initials IOOF. Finally a black ribbon again reads, "Connecticut River, Lodge No. 7, Barnet, Vermont." The text is gold and embellished by gold accents throughout.
A tag on the inside of the ribbon reads, "Made by The Ward-Stilson Co., Anderson, Indiana, Formerly of New London, O., Manufacturers of Badges, Banners, Flags, and All Secret Society Goods."
This ribbon measures approximately 2.75 inches across and is 11.5 inches long, including the tassels.
