This lovely little ring or keepsake box is made of a pot metal, likely spelter, and features a shield with an image of President George Washington's mansion, Mount Vernon, Virginia. The edges of the box are decorated with cherubs and elves playing and fighting. The inside and top of the box are lined with a light green fabric that has some discoloration from years of use. It looks like this box may have once had feet, but those have been removed and ground down so the box sits flats. The bottom of the box has a pebble pattern and is marked JB and 1286. The box is in good condition with some discoloration and patine in the metal.
