Here is your chance to own a first edition copy of Harvey Graham's history of surgery entitled "The Story of Surgery." This first edition was published in 1939 in New York by Doubleday, Doran, & Company Inc. This illustrated book includes 23 plates depicting surgeries throughout history. The plates depict some gruesome scenes including a cesarean section in which the mother is being administered her last rites by a priest, a breast amputation, and the dissection of a criminal's body. The book is in good condition, though the binding has some significant deterioration, and the front cover is beginning to separate. Please see the provided photos for detail of this wear and tear.
