Here is an incredible and grotesque modernist oil on canvas painting depicting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It features an oddly proportioned Christ in a sharp crown of thorns hanging from the cross, with close up depictions of his face and neck in the foreground. The painting is unsigned but came from the same estate as a similarly styled painting signed by artist Lawrence Bond, so is likely by that artist. There is some deterioration on the right side of the painting where the canvas is torn along the edge of the stretcher. There are also some minor paint losses. The painting measures 25" x 30".
