Here is a fascinating government report from the late 1800s. This book is the Report of the Secretary of Agriculture for 1891, published in Washington by the Government Printing Office in 1892. The Secretary of Agriculture in 1891 was Jeremiah McLain Rusk who served under Presidents Benjamin Harrison and Grover Cleveland, and served in the Civil War. This outstanding book is packed with absolutely beautiful illustrations, both in black and white and in color, depicting agricultural tools and machinery, plant life and mushrooms, and the preservation techniques of the time. The book also features many fold out maps in color, all in great condition. The book does show some signs of wear from use and handling. There is some minor warping to the binding and cover, and very minor damage to the inside of the rear cover.
